"Learn how to work for the things you desire in life."

10 years old (Grade 5)

I started Kumon when I was in Grade 5 at Level 2A (adding numbers up to 10). During that time, the level was very easy for me. I did not have a hard time answering my Kumon worksheets until I reached Level J (algebra). At that point, I understood why I began with a low starting point because it helped me enhance my basic skills in math.

Kumon did not only develop me academically, but it also made me a more determined person. Before, I used to give up easily, but with the discipline I have gained in Kumon, I became more patient and determined to finish the things that I have started. I realized, too, that you cannot get all the things done in an instant – one should learn how to work for the things they desire in life.

During my Kumon days, I encountered some difficulties especially when there were school projects to be submitted. This was the point that doing Kumon became hard for me. However, thanks to the tireless effort of my teachers, I was able to catch up with the worksheets that I missed. In Kumon, student-teacher cooperation is vital.

Completion, either in mathematics or reading, brings a feeling of success and fulfillment. I have always admired those students who have already completed the program. Now I am so grateful that I am one of them. Surely, Kumon is a good foundation for my future. I will make sure that I will apply and share all the things that I have learned from Kumon, not only the mathematical skills, but the values of discipline and patience, as well.
