Free Education and Parenting Seminar Launched in SM Mall of Asia
Kumon Philippines shares with parents how to let their children shine.
Although parents provide that care and guidance, children also need opportunities for developing a healthy sense of independence. The difficult part is striking the right balance between saying “no” and letting go.
Kumon Philippines recognizes that their associates and parents are their partners in the endless pursuit to maximize children’s potential, thus launching the Kumon Philippines’ Education and Parenting Seminar Series (KPEPSS).
“Kumon Philippines recognizes the many challenges parents go through in raising their children,” says Tadashi Nakatsuka, newly-appointed President of Kumon Philippines. “Our vision is to develop children who will grow up to be responsible and contributing members of the community. KPEPSS is our initiative for the parents of this country’s future leaders – to help them understand and hone their children’s potential.”
The first of three free parenting seminars was launched in SM Mall of Asia last May 22. With the theme “Let Them Shine,” the seminar enlightens parents on the concept of self-learning – how it is developed at home during a child’s formative years, how it is strengthened when practiced consistently, and how it can prepare him for an independent life ahead.
Different speakers, including Dr. Melissa Lopez Reyes, Applied Cognitive and Educational Psychologist, and Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV, Young Global Leader Awardee, shared their thoughts and experiences. The next leg of the Kumon Philippines’ Education and Parenting Seminar will be held at SM City Pampanga on July 24, followed by SM Cebu on August 28.
