Kumon PH Free Trial Stories: Grow, Learn, and Enjoy

With the desire to provide their children with a program that can supplement their studies, Dr. Ariel and Dr. Annabelle Gregorios decided to register for the Kumon 2-Week Free Trial Campaign for their eldest daughter, Abrielle Therese in Valencia City. When they saw how much she was enjoying and learning from the program, they decided to enroll her in Kumon. When Abrielle was two years into the program, Mr. and Mrs. Gregorios decided to enroll their second daughter, Ayanna Tracy, in Kumon after seeing Abrielle’s development. These two girls have gone through challenges and achievements together – being each other’s motivation and support from beginning to present. Mr. and Mrs. Gregorios believe in how Kumon can develop every child’s academic skills and character. This is constantly reinforced when they see how their two girls continue to grow, learn, and enjoy.

Sister bond

Abrielle and Ayanna have a great sister relationship which involves influencing and supporting each other. According to Abrielle, “we share our difficulties when doing the worksheets since we do our homework in the same room. We always tell each other of the challenging questions. Sometimes, we work quietly since we know we have to concentrate especially when we answer math problems. Ayanna always pushes me forward because she excels in math. I also tell her which parts in Reading I found hard so she can prepare for it.”

Ayanna echoes the same thing when sharing how her sister helps her daily. “In Reading, Abrielle always motivates me to analyze and understand the story and questions. Sometimes, I would ask her if she can do it for me, especially when I get tired with the difficult questions. But she always motivates me by telling me to just read and understand the story and the questions.”

Mr. and Mrs. Gregorios confirm that Abrielle and Ayanna complement each other. They see how Abrielle excels in Reading, while Ayanna excels in Math. So they always find ways to help and motivate each other especially when they start to face difficulties with their worksheets.

“Sometimes, during their homework time, they discuss what they have been answering. And because they spend so much time discussing about the worksheets, they tend to delay the homework that needs to be done. But we think that this is a way to relax before doing their homework.”

Changes and developments

“Kumon has a great impact on Abrielle and Ayanna’s discipline and time management skills especially during school breaks. They know when to do their homework even when there is no school. These skills will help them especially when they enter high school and college where more tasks need to be done.”

Another thing that Mr. and Mrs. Gregorios can attest to is the change in learning attitude and character that they have seen in Abrielle and Ayanna. For Abrielle, Kumon reinforces her love for reading and increases her interest in school. Being an advanced student in Kumon inspires her to learn more. Moreover, she is also keen to continue with the program since she learns topics that are not yet discussed in school. When she was in Kindergarten, she was the only one in class who could read and solve simple math problems.

For Ayanna, she is quiet in nature. She just enjoys the Math Program and she didn’t even realize that she was already excelling in math. In terms of achievements, both girls are the Math Teachers Association of the Philippines (MTAP) contestants for their schools and divisions every year. They also excel in music and are fast learners with mastering how to play the piano, violin, and guitar. They are also active in sports like badminton and volleyball.

Indeed, Kumon has a great impact on Abrielle and Ayanna’s discipline and time management skills especially during school breaks. They know when to do their homework even when there is no school. These skills will help them especially when they enter high school and college where more tasks need to be done. Kumon also teaches them to be independent and learn independently. They are able to do their homework and projects on their own since they have developed that habit when studying the Kumon Method.
With this, both Abrielle and Ayanna are a step closer to their dreams of becoming a pediatrician (for Ayanna) and a teacher or doctor (for Abrielle).
