Mathematics is a Way of Life
Casci Kyuri Agustin
Kumon has also made me realize the importance of continuously doing an activity until I can complete it.
- 4 years old (PK1)
My parents enrolled me in Kumon for three reasons: to learn, to improve and to become better in math. They wanted to prepare me for hardship and frustrations that may come later in life. And they also consider Kumon as a stepping stone to reaching my dream of becoming a civil engineer.
Not only have I learned basics like the four operations, I have also learned that mathematics is important because it is a way of life. All the things around us are composed of numbers, equations, problems, solutions, and logical interpretations.
Kumon taught me the value of going through the entire process. My advancement in the Math Program showed me how learning the basics helps me better understand the difficult topics. In Kumon, there are no easy ways or shortcuts to mastery. But once you have learned the topics and developed focus and determination, the way becomes easy. Also, time management is another skill I learned from Kumon. I know when study time is and I can finish my homework with extra time for play and family bonding.
Kumon has also made me realize the importance of continuously doing an activity until I can complete it. I will not be able to reap the full benefits of Kumon if I decide to give up on difficult problems. I want to be able to reach my dream and be successful.
Thank you, Kumon, for showing me not only the importance of math, but also the importance of developing the needed abilities and values in order to be good in math and to succeed in life!
