As a franchisee, you also become a Kumon Instructor so you can contribute to the learning success of your students. Our Kumon Instructors are highly involved in shaping the learning journey of our students, helping them to discover their true learning potential.
Besides being passionate about the education of students, you should also meet the following criteria:
- 25-45 years old
- Bachelor's Degree-holder
- Excellent math and reading skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in basic computer applications
- Strong drive to nurture students
- Filipino citizen

To become a Kumon Instructor in the Philippines, applicants should fulfill the following criteria:
• College or university graduate
• Have good Math and English skills (an examination is given on the date of the orientation)
• Between 25 – 45 years of age
• Enthusiastic to help children
• Have excellent interpersonal skills (interview required)
• Willingness to commit full-time to Kumon
• Holds a Filipino Citizenship
The following steps are for those who wish to open their own Kumon Center in the Philippines.
• Register and conveniently access our Virtual Franchise Orientation for a limited period.
• Register and attend a Consultation Meeting with our Franchise Recruitment Manager.
• Pass the Test and Online Training.
• Have Your Location Approved.
• Open Your own Kumon Center.
Provisional Franchise Fee and Starter Kit (initial inventory): Php 28,000 (upon signing the Franchise Agreement.) This amount is included in your initial capital investment.
Estimated Initial Capital Investment (Startup Cost): Usually ranges from Php 400,000 to 800,000 depending on your location. This may include: rental deposits, business permits, renovation cost and furniture, staff and utility costs, and franchise fee).
The franchise is granted on a sole proprietorship basis. It is recommended that the franchise owner submit his/her own application form and go through the application process personally.
Yes, you can! Many of our franchisees came in with little to no experience in teaching, from professionals, executives to homemakers etc. The instructor training is specifically designed to impart the principles of effective teaching by providing a range of theory and practical skills for instructing Kumon students, as well as communication skills and knowledge in centre management.
